Tobias Harris was on mission as The Sixers Take Game 1 Against The Wizards

Philadelphia Sixers are the number 1 seed in the Eastern Conference. Last time they were at the top of the east is back in 2001 when they went to the finals to only lose to the Los Angeles Lakers. Now is 2021 and they are back number 1.  The offseason they made changes to bring in guys to help shoot Seth Curry and Danny Green. To back up Joel Embiid they sign Dwight Howard. Picked up George Hill in free Agency. Doc Rivers got hired as the new coach. The Sixers had the 2nd best home record in the NBA 29-7 at the Well Fargo Center. Joel Embiid is having a career year and is the Finalist for MVP. Ben Simmons is a Finalist for Defensive Player of the Year. Since the pandemic, no fans have been able to come into the arena. Last season they had the piped in crowd noise was not the same. Now fans can be at the WFC and cheer on the Sixers.

This was a back and froth game. For the Sixers to be the Wizards their defense had to be on point because Bradley Beal and Russell Westbrook can score and wont look back. Philly got off to a good start, Joel Embiid got into foul trouble early and had to go to the bench. Dwight Howard came in and got some buckets and some and 1 call. Tobias Harris took over the scoring in the 2nd quarters scoring 28 points. He set a career and playoff high with 37 points the second half was a different game for the 76ers. The lockdown defense frustrated Bradley Beal who finished with 33 points, but Ben Simmons forced turnovers on Westbrook down the stretch. Ben Simmons went o-6 from the free throw line 6 points 15 assists and 15 rebounds. Joel Embiid played 28 minutes and finished with 30 points. Seth Curry came alive in the game as three were falling for him he had 15 points. Sixers transition defense was suspect in the first half, but it turned around in the 4th quarter.

Can the Sixers go up 2-0 on Washington? Next game Wednesday.
