With having Christmas Day off the Sixers we’re right back at it Saturday Night at MSG to face the New York Knicks. Last year the Sixers struggled horribly on the road but this game was different.
Sixers definitely started off slow. Still new faces and Doc Rivers has to see what his rotation will be. Right of out of the gate Julius Randle of the Knicks scores 9 straight points. RJ Barrett was 2-15 from the floor for the Knicks. Ben Simmons played great defensively on Barrett. Simmons 15 points, 9 rebounds 6 assists 1 steal and 2 blocks. Joel Embiid had another great performance in his second game of the season. 27 points 10 rebounds 2-4 from 3 point. In the 30 minutes he was on the floor he was unstoppable. Knicks had no match for him no matter who was guarding him.
Tobias Harris had a needed come back game. Against the Wizards he 3-13 with 10 points. Harris last night was 7-14 with 17 points. He still needs to make quickest decisions on if he wants to shoot or pass couple times he was stuck in the corner. The one Sixers that looks to be finding his own is Seth Curry. Seth was 6-8 3-4 from three ending the night with 27 points.
Sixers only turned the ball over 12 times and also was great on scoring off the turnovers they forced. New York had 16 turnovers and Sixers scored 23 points off of. Defensively Sixers seems to be good but they still starting slow offensively. We are right back at it tonight against the Cleveland Cavaliers they went into 2 OT to beat the Pistons. Sixers defeat the Knicks 105-89.
With this win Doc Rivers is the 10th all time regular season wins. Sixers were 35% from the 3 last night. With getting player who can shoot also Danny Green had 9 points making 2 3 pointers when needed. Dwight Howard has been playing aggressively on the boards he finished with 9 points 6 rebounds and a block. Shake Milton is continuing to play well of the Bench he had 10 points.
