J.J. Watt Signs Two-Year $31M Deal With Arizona Cardinals

Breaking news from Adam Schefter Star defensive player J.J. Watt has signed a two-year,$31 million deal with the Arizona Cardinals

Watt passed up on the Pittsburgh Steelers and Green Bay Packers to sign with the Cardinals to sign with Cardinals. Watt would have a better shot at a super bowl with either team than joining the Cardinals.

Last year the Arizona Cardinals went 8-8 barely missing the playoffs. But Adding the 3 time defensive player of the year J.J. Watt will help improve their defense as he still can get after the quarterback if he can stay healthy. In the past 5 seasons Watt has been hurt 3 of those years but if he can stay healthy he can produce for the Cardinals.

Watt joins his former Texans teammate receiver Deandre Hopkins and rising quarterback Kyler Murray. Last season Watt had 35 solo tackles, 5 sacks, and 2 forced fumbles. Adding Watt to the Cardinals will they be able to win the NFC West or make it to the playoffs.. I think that next year the Cardinals will be the third best team in the NFC West. The Los Angeles Rams are the favorites especially with their top tier defense and adding quarterback Matthew Stafford. If the San Francisco 49ers are healthy for next season they are a better team than the Cardinals. This edition to the defense can help the Cardinals to go after Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson.

The Cardinals are a good enough team to make the playoffs especially with adding Watt to their defense. Last season the Cardinals went 8-8 and just missed out on the 7th seed but their 2021 opponents there’s an opportunity especially with the O-lines they will face. They face teams like Seahawks, Cowboys, and Lions they have advantages for their defense. This team is loaded with offensive talent and an improved defense. They have a good shot at the playoffs.
