Anthony Rizzo Traded to the New York Yankees

The New york Yankees acquired first baseman Anthony Rizzo from the Chicago Cubs. In addition, the Yankees are sending the Cubs two prospects: right-handed pitcher Alexander Vizcaino and outfielder Kevin Alcantara. New York also got some cash from the Cubs and it could be enough to pay the rest of Rizzo’s salary this season.

So far this season, Rizzo is batting .248 with 14 home runs and 40 RBIs. In addition, Anthony Rizzo and recently acquired Joey Gallo will add some left-handed pop to their lineup. Rizzo15.8% strikeout rate is among the lowest in the league for players with his power. Rizzo is a three-time All-Star and has hit 25 or more home runs six times in his career; he is also a four-time Gold Glove winner. Rizzo is a career .269 hitter, has hit 243 home runs.
